Juventus are vying with Newcastle and Everton to secure the services of Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips after the England front-of-defence linchpin fell out of favour with Citizens coach Pep Guardiola, according to Italian and British media reports. Phillips, 28, who has 31 England caps, has played just 16 times for Guardiola since joining City from Leeds last year and is desperate for club playing time to stay in the England frame. The Daily Telegraph said Thursday that the Magpies are confident of beating the Turin giants and the Toffees to the punch.
